Hi, I’m Tracy ...

Tracy Seider, creator of The Reshape Method®

At 56, I’m stronger, fitter, pain-free, and happier in my body than I was 10 years ago.

But getting here took years of frustration, searching, and trying all the wrong things first ...

I’m a former journalist and editor who closed my successful publishing business and retrained in my late 40s as an Exercise and Alignment Specialist for peri- and post-menopausal women.

Why?

Because I discovered – the hard way – that there’s a simpler, smarter, biomechanics-based way to get ache-free and age well at midlife.

And no one was telling women like us about it.

Now that I know better, I'm doing SO much better. And it's become my mission to help other midlife women stop wasting time, energy, and money on temporary fixes – and finally understand what their bodies actually need.

Because stubborn back, hip, and neck aches should not be what stops us from pursuing our professional goals, personal dreams or audacious plans for what comes next.

A little more about me ...

I’m originally from South Africa, and immigrated to Canada with my family in 2008 – so when you hear my accent, mystery solved.

I now live in Toronto with my husband, our three spunky daughters, and Kobe, our Border Collie–Great Pyrenees cross.

My husband is one of those irritatingly capable people who can fix my computer, build me a floor desk and bake sourdough bread.

Our daughters keep me laughing, learning and occasionally informed that crossing the monkey bars at the park is deeply embarrassing behaviour for a mother.

Kobe (the dog) is less judgmental.

MY STRUGGLE

I was doing all the right things. My body still hurt

For more than 20 years, I worked behind screens.

I loved helping authors and experts shape their ideas into something clear and meaningful.

What I didn’t love was how my body felt by the end of the day.

Stiff. Sore. Tight through my neck, back and hips. And considerably older than when I had sat down that morning.

The frustrating part was that I wasn’t inactive.

I had practised yoga since I was 15. I exercised regularly, had a dance background and taught yoga part-time.

I genuinely believed I was doing all the right things to look after myself and age well.

But by my mid-40s, my body wasn’t cooperating.

I worried about putting my neck or back out again. My hip disturbed my sleep. Exercise – the very thing that was supposed to help – would leave me feeling worse.

And then came the sneeze pee – out of nowhere!

So I did what capable, solution-focused women do.

I tried to fix it.

Physio. Chiro. Massage. Acupuncture. Core work. Orthotics. Ergonomic chairs. Better pillows and expensive mattresses.

Some of it helped temporarily.

Nothing created lasting change.

I had done my part.

So why wasn’t my body doing its part?

MY TURNING POINT

I knew this couldn’t be as good as it gets

I had watched my late mother and grandmother become increasingly frail, less mobile, and more dependent as they aged.

I was frightened that I was seeing the beginning of the same story in myself.

I didn’t want to spend the next 30 years gradually lowering my expectations to match what my body could tolerate. In my mind, I still felt so young and vibrant.

And I certainly wasn’t prepared to suck it up because I was menopausal or over 40.

But I have always been solution-focused.

When there’s a problem, I want to understand what is causing it, what actually works, and what I can do about it.

So I kept searching.

THE MISSING PIECE

What I discovered changed everything

The missing piece was alignment and biomechanics.

Not posture in the “sit up straight and pull your shoulders back” sense.

I learned that the alignment of my skeleton affected which muscles and movement patterns my body could access.

Although I was active and flexible, my body had developed clever cheats and compensations.

I could move. But I wasn’t necessarily moving in the way my body was designed to move.

My back, hip, and neck pain were the squeaky wheels.

But nobody had looked at the crooked axle – my misaligned skeleton.

Once I stopped spot-treating symptoms and began fixing my whole-body alignment and movement patterns, my body changed.

The aches began resolving.

My strength, shape, and mobility improved.

My energy and mood lifted.

Even the bladder leaking improved.

I felt hopeful again.

I also felt angry.

Why had no one told me this sooner?

WHY I CREATED THE RESHAPE METHOD®

I created the method I wish I’d found

I retrained and immersed myself in biomechanics, corrective exercise, menopause fitness, strength, core and pelvic-floor function, natural movement, yoga, nutrition and behaviour change.

I tested what I learned in my own body and refined it through years of coaching women around the world.

That work became the Reshape Method®.

It is the smarter, simpler and more sustainable approach I wish someone had shown me when I was trying everything and getting nowhere fast.

Today, I get to help other peri- and post-menopausal women around the world to reshape their alignment, resolve their aches and take charge of their changing bodies.

How lucky am I?

MY PHILOSOPHY

Age audaciously

I believe our Third Age (the decades beyond our reproductive years) can be our most audacious yet.

Whether you’re still building your career, changing careers, leading a team, or running a business (or you’ve retired and finally have the freedom to decide what comes next) you are not done. Not even close.

This stage of life can hold another 30 or 40 years.

That is far too much life to spend feeling held back by a stiff, sore body.

To me, aging audaciously means understanding your body and taking charge of it.

It means making smart, informed choices that protect your strength, mobility, and independence.

It means being able to pursue the work, travel, sport, projects, relationships and gloriously impractical adventures that make life worth living.

It isn’t about trying to look 25. (I have no desire to be young and stupid again.)

It is about feeling youthful rather than younger.

Strong. Supple. Capable. Independent.

And yes, looking good in your jeans too.

THE RESHAPE METHOD®

Aging audaciously, in action

Today, I work, travel, exercise, get onto the floor, sleep soundly, don’t pee when I sneeze ... and yes, I cross the monkey bars at the park (much to my daughters’ chagrin) – partly because I can, and partly as a small but deeply satisfying gesture to the ageist culture telling women it’s all downhill from here.

Now, I’m not suggesting you need to be able to cross the monkey bars.

You may have absolutely no desire to. 😂

The point is having a body that gives you options.

A body that lets you keep saying YES to the things you want to do – whether that’s travelling further, hiking harder, taking up a new sport, building a business, playing on the floor with your grandkids, or embarking on some gloriously impractical adventure.

Because that kind of strength, mobility, and capability shouldn’t be reserved for movement professionals, lifelong exercisers, or women with endless time on their hands.

Am I special? No.

Do I have a special approach? Heck, yes.

And I love that I now get to share it with women who aren’t prepared to spend the next few decades lowering their expectations of what their bodies can do.
